iciHaiti - Accidents : In 2021, the roads claimed more than 5,000 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services for Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us of the 2021 annual report of road accidents in the country.

During the year 2021, there were 1,518 cases of accidents across the country which resulted in a total of 5,055 victims including 740 dead (on site or in hospital) and 4.315 injured.

These accidents mainly occurred on national roads and secondary roads.

2021 report :
January: 92 accidents, 30 deaths;
February: 136 accidents, 24 deaths;
March: 151 accidents, 62 deaths;
April: 115 accidents, 70 deaths;
But: 115 accidents, 44 deaths;
June: 98 accidents, 37 deaths;
July: 112 accidents, 47 deaths;
August: 183 accidents, 65 deaths;
September: 122 accidents, 72 deaths;
October: 124 accidents, 81 deaths;
November: 104 accidents, 48 ​​deaths;
December: 166 accidents, 160 deaths.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call on drivers to be careful on the roads and to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.

In addition, STOP-Accident urges the authorities concerned to strengthen preventive measures, to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service, to ensure the safety of roads, the regularization of public transport and the regulation of motorcycles.
