In a note, the Ambassador of Haiti in the Dominican Republic Smith Augustin writes at the start of the new year "[...] Times are difficult for the Homeland of Louverture, Dessalines, Pétion and Christophe, but they are not impossible to overcome, especially if we assume with fervor and integrity the liberating thought and the firm resistance of the Fathers of the Haitian nation. In addition, a sincere dialogue between the various Haitian actors, and a strengthening of cooperation with friendly countries will allow us to respond to the current challenges facing society.
Ambassador Smith Augustin, as well as the diplomatic and administrative staff of the Mission, join the Haitian diaspora in the Dominican Republic to express their joy on this new anniversary of Haitian National Independence, with faith and hope for a better future.
