A group of angry lawyers proceeded early in the morning of January 20, to the closure of the Court of Peace and the Palace of Justice of Petit-Goâve housing both the Court of First Instance, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Bâtonnat, totally paralyzing the judicial activities of the Court.

The protesting lawyers said they were acting against the corruption that reigns "as master" in the prosecution and the mishandling of files. They demand the intervention of the Minister of Justice and members of the Superior Council of the Judicial Police (CSPJ). The Lawyers accuse by name a Substitute of the Government Commissioner whom they qualify as "corrupt".
