iciHaiti - Les Cayes / earthquake : Replacement of IDs lost
The Citizens' Initiative for Human Rights (ICDH) with the financial support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) is facilitating the birth registration for internally displaced persons living in the sites of the communes of the South Department affected by the earthquake of August 14, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34681-haiti-earthquake-latest-assessment-of-civil-protection.html and https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes-updated-10am.html

A week after the earthquake, ICDH protection officers were on the ground. The issue of loss of identity documents, psychosocial and educational support for children affected by this earthquake and economic support for vulnerable families were clearly identified as priority and fundamental needs to which answers must be provided. The protection agents had gone to meet these displaced people to obtain information to help them obtain their lost identity documents.
