iciHaiti - DR : 7 individuals including 3 Dominican soldiers kill a Haitian and burn 8 houses
Monday, September 13, 2022 a group of seven individuals, including three military brothers, murdered a Haitian national and burned 8 houses on the site of La Rosa in the Majagual section, more precisely in the mountainous part of the municipality of Galván (Province of Bahoruco).

The victim, a 40-year-old Haitian known as "Amarmando" died as a result of several gunshots and machetes. The victim worked alongside Tirzo Rodriguez, President of the Association of Farmers of this community,

Rodriguez specified that the soldiers implicated in this crime are identified as Papilin, Roberto and Valentinín Montero, who came from Vallejuelo (Province of San Juan), to commit their crime. He indicated that these individuals would have acted in retaliation, the father of one of the soldiers would have been wounded in the arm the day before by a stone throw while he intervened in a confrontation between two young Haitians.

For Tirzo Rodríguez. "There was no reason to come to this, they wanted to do it, they burned 8 houses [...] the other Haitians left the scene to save their lives after being attacked by the group, including the the three soldiers in uniform emphasizing, "they were so reckless that, knowing me, they didn't even speak to me. They didn't even greet me, that is to say, anything could have happened to us Dominicans too [...] here nobody agrees with what they did."
