The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) has unveiled the characteristics and security elements of the new 250 Gourdes note put into circulation on the national market.

Characteristics :

On the front of the note is the portrait of Jean Jacques Dessalines (1758-1806). Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines, Father of the Fatherland, appears on the 250 gourdes note. General experienced in guerrilla tactics, genius in military strategy, he defeated the French Army and won the independence of Haiti. Symbol of freedom and founder of the first black Republic in the world, Jean Jacques Déssalines remains one of the greatest figures in the history of Haiti and also of humanity.

On the back is Fort Decided, Marchand (Artibonite), one of the defense ramparts of the new state.

Security elements :

Multidirectional and permanent latent image.

Demetallized holographic tape with tactile printing for the visually impaired.

The BRH asks the Haitian population to be vigilant so as not to take any counterfeit notes that may be in circulation.
