iciHaiti - MSF : A patient extracted from a hospital and coldly executed by armed individuals
The international NGO Médecins Sans Frontière (MSF) denounces an act of extreme violence, which occurred when armed individuals burst into the Raoul Pierre-Louis hospital in Carrefour on August 14 at around 11:00 p.m. "In the emergency room supported by Médecins Sans Frontières, these men armed with handguns grabbed a patient and coldly executed him as he left the hospital". "This is the first time that we have recorded such an incident, that armed men burst into one of our centers to perpetrate such an act," said Alexandre MSF Michel, communication manager to the AFP.

"At a time when we are planning the opening, in 2023, of an emergency center in this area west of Martissant, we are appalled by the barbarity of this punitive expedition which flouts our humanitarian principles and the protection which this patient should have benefited from within this hospital."

"Médecins Sans Frontières continues to ask the armed actors in Haiti to respect the medical missions, whether it concerns the wounded and the personnel who care for them, the structures which receive them or the ambulances which transport them," concludes the press release.

No details on the identity of the gunmen or patient executed.
