iciHaiti - Taiwan : Economic recovery project, 40 women successfully trained

Friday, September 23, 2022, as part of the Economic Recovery and Women's Empowerment Project in Haiti, launched on May 20, 2022 by Ku, Wen-jiann the Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) and Jean Victor Géneus the Minister of Foreign Affairs , Sofia Loréus the Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, in collaboration with the Embassy of Taiwan, participated in the ceremony to present the certificate of successful completion of training.

40 women from the first promotion, having successfully completed the 60-hour vocational training course given over 2 weeks in make-up, hairdressing, manicure and entrepreneurship at the Vocational Training Center of the Ministry of Women on September 23, 2022 received their certificate

Let's remember that this project funded by Taiwan to the tune of 2.6 million dollars is based on three main areas : employment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion of women. It reinforces the economic capacity of these young women from various women's organizations across the country, a way of fighting against all kinds of violence of which they are victims. "The fight for the promotion and defense of women's rights must begin with their economic independence," said Minister Loréus.
