iciHaiti - Haitian crisis : In no case the Dominican Rep. will accept refugees from Haiti

Sunday, October 9, 2022, at a press conference at the Ignacio Loyol Technical Institute in Dajabón, Luis Abinader, the President of the Dominican Republic declared that he "[...] will not accept in any case the approach (of the refugees)" on the Dominican territory "if the crisis of the neighboring country should require it... ""
Abinader, while reaffirming that the Dominican Republic would only play a diplomatic role in the crisis and would not participate in any possible military intervention, said the country had done enough to help Haiti saying "you don't find a country in the region that offers more humanitarian aid than we already do in our hospitals for Haitians..."
