Saturday, October 8, 2022, as part of the Norceca Pan-American Cup which took place in Havana (Cuba), the Haiti U-21 Volleyball selection defeated Nicaragua 3 sets to 1 [22-25, 25 -22, 25-23, 25-18] and finished in 7th.

In the first set, the Grenadiers were overconfident which cost them the set they lost [22-25] not without trying to go up the score.

In the second set, they played tit for tat with the opponent before breaking away at "money time" and winning the set [25-22].

The coach Junior Siècle for the 3rd set has made changes (SENAT #12 in place of Captain RELIS #8 attacker, PIERRE #9 in place of OSCAR #6 blocker and VALCOURT #2 in place of ALVARESE #3 passer) which bore fruit and the Haitian team began by taking a few points ahead and ensured until the end [25-23].

The fourth set was only a formality. The grenadiers encountered little resistance and went it alone before finishing the match winning by [25-18].

Haiti finished in 7th place, with two wins and four losses in this Panamerican tournament.

"We thought we could have reached fourth or fifth place, we couldn't reach our goal, but now we're happy not to be the last. Today my players played happily and with a little more efficiency. If we had been able to play like that at the start, we would have ended up in the positions we wanted..." said coach Siècle.
