Saturday, October 22, 2022, during a confrontation with agents of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) of the Department of Artibonite, the named "Loder", Leader of a gang operating in Palmiste, a locality in the commune of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite was fatally injured. A 5.56 caliber AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifle he was carrying was recovered by UDMO agents.

In addition, the police authorities inform that they have taken all measures to strengthen the police presence in the commune of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite in order to deal with organized crime and defeat the armed gangs which are trying in vain to take control of the city's Police station.
