A large security device has been deployed at the border bridge on the Ouanaminthe side, made up of units of the Border Police (PoliFront) in order to ensure the maintenance of order and facilitate the passage of the greatest number of Haitians who come from on the Dominican side to stock up on various products and goods. It should be noted that in recent weeks, with the approach of the holiday season, a significant increase in the flow of people and vehicles at the northern border of the two countries has been observed during the 2 weekly binational markets every Monday and Friday. In addition to the security measures adopted by the Haitian authorities, the deployment of soldiers from the Specialized Border Security Corps (Cesfront) ensures orderly access to the Dajabón market and the Dominican Army is deployed to ensure the guard of the border bridge and surveillance of the border area.
