iciHaiti - DR : 354 illegal Haitians arrested and repatriated in 24 hours
After having reinforced the migration control operations carried out simultaneously on March 15 in the province of La Altagracia more precisely in Bávaro, Mata Mosquito, Cortecito, Villa Pleywood and Friusa (El Hoyo de Friusa), as well as 'in Cruce de Verón, La Cristinita, La Piscina, Los Colores and Los Manantiales, agents of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) apprehended 354 Haitian nationals (345 men and 9 women) in an irregular migratory situation, who were transferred at the Haina reception and detention centre, before their repatriation to Haiti.
These operations were carried out through a joint effort between DGM agents with the support of the Dominican Navy, Air Force and National Police, coordinated by De los Santos Quezada Emiliano, Chief of the national migration ban
The DGM also indicated that these controls will continue to be implemented throughout the national territory in a persistent and simultaneous manner, recalling that it will in no case authorize the presence of illegal aliens in the country regardless of their nationality.
