iciHaiti - Health : Genomic sequencing equipment installed in Haiti

Thanks to funding from the Government of Norway with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti) and the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), equipment state-of-the-art genomic sequencing system, was installed at the National Laboratory of the Ministry of Public Health.
From now on the Ministry of Health will no longer have to send samples abroad to be tested with often a late return of the results.
This new device will allow the Haitian health authorities to detect in real time the variants of SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19 and its variants) circulating in the country, and to have a surveillance device effective against other pathogens such as Influenza Virus, RSV, Vibrio Cholera, etc.
