Members of the Specialized Land Borders Security Corps (CESFRONT), supported by agents from the National Drug Control Department (DNCD) and the Public Ministry, seized a shipment of 1,197 pounds (542.9 kg) of marijuana at the middle of an inspection and surveillance operation carried out at the Dajabón border checkpoint.

The members of Cesfront intercepted an International brand truck, white, registered TM492415 coming from Haiti when the driver, after noting the presence of the authorities, abandoned his vehicle and fled.

Subsequently, in coordination with the Public Ministry, the military and anti-narcotics agents, assisted by canine units, detected a cache between the cab and the bed of the truck, inside which were 119 bags of marijuana that were seized. In addition, inside the truck, documents and other evidence were found that will allow the investigation to be expanded."

The Public Ministry and the DNCD are actively looking for the driver of the truck of Haitian origin.
