iciHaiti - PNH : France strengthens its police cooperation with Haiti

As part of the celebration of International Police Cooperation Day (September 7), Fabrice Mauriès, the French Ambassador to Haiti praised the efforts made by the Haitian National Police (PNH) to fulfill its mission despite the difficulties.

From January to August 2023, several training sessions were provided by experts from RAID, the French police intervention unit, for the benefit of PNH agents from specialized units such as the BRI, the BLTS, the BLVV, the DCPJ, DCPA and SWAT https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-39089-icihaiti-antigang-the-french-elite-raid-unit-trains-bri-agents.html

During these training courses, training was carried out in various areas such as: urban guerrilla warfare, arrests in closed environments and on public roads, interventions with armored vehicles, management of crime scenes, handling dogs in airports...

An officer and a commissioner from the PNH and a trainer from the national police academy were also trained in France.

During this same period, France donated several materials and equipment to the PNH: 14 vehicles, motorcycles, dogs specialized in the search for narcotics and explosives, computer equipment to almost all PNH services. and drones. It is also preparing to donate protective equipment : helmets, bulletproof vests and other sensitive materials.

France also financed the renovation of the electrical system of the DCPJ and the Port-au-Prince police station, each of which now has a solar power plant and a generator allowing them to be autonomous in terms of electricity.
