"I welcome the vote on the United Nations Security Council resolution for the deployment of a multinational security support mission (MSS). I would like to particularly thank the Secretary General of the United Nations, as well as the American and Ecuadorian governments for drafting the text of the resolution and the vote on it.

Thank you to our sister country, Kenya, which has agreed to take charge of this Mission. Thank you in advance to all the countries who agree to join this Force.

The Haitian people say a big thank you to the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations. We welcome the United States and Ecuador for introducing the draft resolution. We also thank the other countries who helped us in their own way. Thank you to the country of Kenya which agreed to lead the mission and to all the other countries in the Caribbean, Europe and Africa who decided to give a helping hand to Haiti. The liberation bell has rung.

Haiti will rise to the occasion!
