iciHaiti - Education : 60th anniversary of the founding of the Lycée National de Pétion-ville
The day of celebration began with the sending of the flag which was accompanied for the occasion by the PNH fanfare. Then later, hundreds of students marched around the central square of Pétion-ville and entered the Saint-Pierre church where a mass of thanksgiving was said.
Back on the school courtyard, speakers spoke at length about the glorious history of this public school.
Etienne Louisseul France, Departmental Director of Education for the West, on behalf of Minister Nesmy Manigat, praised the efforts of all those who worked to make this beautiful day of reunions and memories come true.
This series of interventions was also punctuated by the words of Professor Jacky Lumarque, Me Jean-Claude Boyer (two former students of the high school), Ilrick Mercier, President of the Former Students Association and those spoken by the engineer Jean-Marc Charles who has served this public school for 43 years, including 30 years as Director.
During this day of celebration, a beautiful tribute was paid to Professor Maurice Pierre (33 years of service), Professor Jeannel Sainfranc (45 years of service), Professor Jean-Marc Charles (43 years of service) and Professor Sauveur Louissaint (30 years of service).

Let's rmember that the Lycée national de Pétion-Ville welcomes for the 2023-2024 academic year more than 3,800 students, girls and boys, from the 9th fundamental year to secondary 4. They are divided into two shifts (a.m. and p.m.) and distributed in 44 classrooms (24 rooms in the morning and 20 in the afternoon).
