iciHaiti - Dengue : 729 confirmed cases (November 2023)
Monday December 4th, 2023 the Ministry of Health and Population of Haiti confirmed that in November 2023, out of 6,643 tests carried out on suspected cases, 729 cases (10.9%) were confirmed positive for the dengue virus. However, the Ministry does not publish the total number of suspected cases in November, making it impossible to know what percentage represents the number of cases tested.

The largest number of confirmed cases comes from the West (237 cases) and Grand'Anse (127 cases) departments. According to the Ministry, no deaths were reported in November.

Symptoms are most often flu-like (fever 40°C/104°F, severe headache, muscle pain, nausea and vomiting, and rash) appear within 3 to 14 days (4 to 7 days on average) which follow the mosquito bite. Dengue fever affects infants, young children and adults alike...

If you have symptoms, the Ministry advises you to go to a hospital or hospital center closest to you to consult and take a test.

Let's remember that the first cases of dengue fever on Haitian territory were confirmed in 2019 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28634-haiti-news-zapping.html
