iciHaiti - USA : 2 Haitians selected for the Community Engagement Exchange program

The American Embassy in Port-au-Prince congratulates Jean Rousselet SAINT-FIRMIN and Djivenson MACIUS, the two young representatives of Haiti selected for the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) 2023 program !

Among 6,300 applicants, these two young people were chosen to participate in this activity funded by the US Department of State and implemented by IREX, a global development and education organization. They were part of a group of 142 participants from 77 countries, who traveled to the United States for a three-month program in different cities.

They have worked with nonprofit organizations, private entities, and government offices across the United States on civil society-related initiatives.

The CEE program is a professional exchange designed for civil society actors and influencers ages 21-28 from over 100 countries and funded by the U.S. Department of State. It covers five major themes : Civic Dialogue and Peacebuilding, Open and Participatory Government, Women and Gender, Resilience and Sustainable Development and Youth Engagement.

This exchange program aims to harness the full potential of emerging and influential young leaders by providing them with opportunities to network and build lasting relationships.

Djivenson will work for 3 months with the Miami-based organization "Dream In Green", which focuses on climate education. For his part, Jean Rousselet will work for 3 months with "Diaspora Community Services", an organization based in New York.
