iciHaiti - Religion : Pope Francis prays for Peace in Haiti

Sunday March 10, 2024, during the Angelus, Pope Francis particularly remembered the Haitian people, where he declared that he was following with concern and sadness the serious crisis hitting Haiti, where widespread violence has broken out in recent days.
He said he was close to the local Church and to all the Haitian people who have suffered for years. He called on everyone to pray for the intercession of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to put an end to all violence. He also encouraged everyone to offer their contribution so that Peace and reconciliation take root in the country, also with the renewed support of the international community.
The Holy Father prayed that the hostilities which are causing immense suffering among the civilian population would cease as quickly as possible.
