iciHaiti - FAO : Distribution of poultry in the communes of Coteaux and Port à Piment
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Haiti) and the Ministry of Agriculture, carried out a distribution of poultry in the communes of Coteaux and Port à Piment as part of the "Reinforcement livelihoods of vulnerable populations in areas affected by food insecurity in the South department".

The objective of the project is to improve the food and nutritional security of 2,000 vulnerable people in areas affected by severe food insecurity through strengthening their productive livelihoods.

Funded by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the project distributed 2,500 laying hens and 500 Plymouth / Rhode Island roosters to 250 women from the commune of Côteaux and 250 other women from the commune of Port à Piment.

FAO is committed to supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in areas affected by food insecurity.
