The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti organized this week the 2nd edition of the award ceremony of the "Monferrier Dorval Excellence Prize".

The ceremony, chaired by Rector Fritz Deshommes, took place in the presence of the vice-rectors of the UEH, professors Jean Poincy and Jacques Blaise, members of the University Council, the Citizen's Protector, Me Renan Hédouville, the Deans of the National Institute of Administration, Management and Higher International Studies (INAGHEI), the Faculty of Law and Economics (FDSE), members of the Management Committee of the Monferrier Dorval Chair of Constitutional Law, executives of the Rectorate of the UEH to name but a few.

Nesly Lavache, a student of the Faculty of Law and Economics, is the Winner of the "Monferrier Dorval Excellence Prize". His thesis entitled "Legal assistance in the face of prolonged preventive detention : Jurisdiction of Port-au-Prince, from 2007 to 2020" was chosen by the members of the UEH Scientific Council from among five finalists.

It should be noted that the "Monferrier Dorval Excellence Prize" was created on September 15, 2020 by the UEH Executive Council in tribute to him. It aims to reward each year, based on the texts received, the best bachelor's thesis, the best master's thesis or the best thesis in the triple field of legal sciences, social work and administrative sciences.
