iciHaiti - Insecurity : The Ministry of Justice condemns the shootings on planes...
The Ministry of Justice and Public Security condemns with the utmost rigor the shootings that occurred on Monday, November 11, 2024 against 3 planes of the airlines Spirit Airlines (at least 7 impacts https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43614-haiti-flash-spirit-airlines-plane-hit-in-flight-by-several-bullets-video.html ), JetBlue (1 impact) and American Airlines (1 impact).

This is a terrorist act that threatens the lives of our compatriots and all those who were on board these aircraft. These heinous acts, which led to the suspension of national and international flights, demonstrate the intensification of armed violence in recent days in the country.

The Ministry of Justice calls on the national security forces to take steps to restore a secure climate in the country in order to allow the resumption of activities, particularly in the capital and its surroundings. Furthermore, the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Croix-des-Bouquets has already received formal instructions to initiate public action against all the perpetrators, co-perpetrators and accomplices of this terrorist act, in accordance with the provisions of the decree revising that of November 25, 2020 on the strengthening of public security.

For its part, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), strongly condemns this increase in violence in the metropolitan region in the last 48 hours, where members of armed gangs have attacked the lives of peaceful citizens, set fire to private property and even targeted airplanes on Monday, November 11, 2024.
