On the morning of November 28, 2024, Carl Eric Barthélus, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Haiti to the Kingdom of Spain, had a fruitful meeting with Julián Campo Peláez, representative of the University Hospital (Moncloa, Madrid) of the HLA Group, around the possibility of developing a collaboration in the health sector.

Barthélus took the opportunity to explain the difficulties that the Haitian health sector is facing.

In addition, Chargé d'Affaires Barthélus formulated requests for training and short-term internships for Haitian students and professors in medicine, among others in the areas of traumatology and robotic surgery, which could contribute to strengthening the Haitian health sector.
