The Police of the North Department, through the agents of the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ/North), proceeded, on December 17, 2024, to the arrest of Vilsaint Léonard accused of usurpation of title and criminal association.

Léonard, originally from Port-de-Paix, claimed to be the Head of the SDPJ/North, and demanded large sums of money from individuals with the love of organizing trips to Brazil, Mexico and other small islands in the Caribbean.

When he was arrested, he was in the uniform of Police Chaplains International, with the rank insignia of Colonel. The police found in his possession several identity documents, among which, a Haitian passport belonging to a client who, according to him, had already offered him US$3,000 for a trip to Mexico. Two cell phones and US$1,100 were also seized.

Vilsaint Léonard was placed in police custody pending legal proceedings.
