The Swiss Cooperation in Haiti, in collaboration with the Housing and Public Buildings Construction Unit (UCLBP) and the General Directorate of Civil Protection, launched this week two days of exchange for the promotion of improved local construction techniques (TCLA) and multifunctional protective shelters in Haiti.

The approach (TCLA) and multifunctional protective shelters are part of the Support Program for Housing Reconstruction with Training in the South (PARHAFS) financed by Switzerland.

They allowed PARHAFS to build eight (8) multifunctional community shelters and more than 650 houses in the southern peninsula that withstood the earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on the Tichter scale on August 14, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes-updated-10am.html

Based on these results, Swiss Cooperation and its partners recommend fruitful exchanges between stakeholders in the construction sector to promote these innovative techniques.
