Presidential Advisor Smith Augustin, accompanied by Joseph André Gracien Jean, the Minister Delegate in charge of electoral and constitutional matters, visited the National Identification Office (ONI) this week to inquire about the progress of the production and distribution of national identification cards (CIN).

Advisor Smith Augustin congratulated Reynold Guerrier, the current Director of the ONI, for his commitment to providing the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) with a database of more than 6 million citizens, thus ensuring an efficient and reliable electoral register.

Smith Augustin, on behalf of the Transitional Council, committed to strengthening the ONI, in particular through :

- The acquisition of new identification equipment;

- Increasing the number of printing centers;

- Optimizing the more than 150 regional offices;

- Staff training.
