iciHaiti - PM and OPC : Humanitarian emergency and coordinated action
As part of a consultation aimed at strengthening human rights protection in Haiti, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met this week with Jean Wilner Morin, the Ombudsman, accompanied by Jude Jean-Pierre, its Director General. The discussions focused on the humanitarian emergency and coordinated action, as well as a strong commitment to sustainable solutions.

The discussions focused on :
• Strengthening human rights protection mechanisms, with a particular focus on the critical situation of displaced persons living in camps;
• The imminent completion of a detailed report analyzing living conditions in these camps, a document that will serve as a basis for future public policies;

The Prime Minister reiterated his determination to work in synergy with the Ombudsman to :
• Improve access to essential services (housing, health, security);
• Guarantee decent living conditions for vulnerable populations;
• Mobilize institutional and international stakeholders around a common strategy.

"This collaboration illustrates our shared desire to place human dignity at the center of government action," declared the Head of Government. The report currently being prepared will be made public in the coming weeks and will constitute an operational roadmap for priority interventions.
