iciHaiti - Economy : Two new free zones authorized

Recognizing the relief that free zones can bring to the populations of certain regions of the country in terms of job creation, and with the aim of promoting the country's attractiveness to foreign investment, the Presidential Transitional Council and the Government, at the Council of Ministers meeting of April 30, 2025, held in a special session, deemed it necessary to authorize, by decree, the establishment of two new free zones:
1) The commercial free zone "LAFITO COMMERCIAL FREE ZONE" in Lafiteau, Habitation Lafiteau-Simonette, 3rd Communal Section of Source Matelas, Commune of Cabaret, Arrondissement of Arcahaie, West Department; and
2) The port free zone called "PC TERMINALS FREE ZONE" in Habitation Chinourette, 5th Communal Section of Fonds-Blanc, Commune of Terrier-Rouge, Arrondissement of Trou du Nord, North-East Department.
