iciHaiti - UNESCO : Training in cyclone-resistant construction and introduction to 3D printing in the construction sector
This week, young Haitian engineers and architects received specialized training on hurricane-resistant construction and the introduction of 3D printing in the construction sector, two essential levers for addressing the structural problems posed by disasters resulting from major natural hazards.

From June 1st to November 30, Haiti enters hurricane season. In this context, it is more essential than ever to strengthen not only response capacities to severe weather, but also to build sustainable resilience through innovation, youth training, and community awareness.

In support of national efforts, UNESCO is assisting in this preparation, leveraging knowledge, technology, and youth engagement as levers for transformation.

The introduction of 3D printing in the construction sector represents a major step forward. It makes it possible to produce strong, modular, and cost-effective structures, while reducing construction time. This technology can transform the way we build schools, housing, and community infrastructure, especially in vulnerable areas.

This initiative is not limited to the transfer of technical skills; it is part of a broader vision: that of young people who are trained, empowered, and placed at the heart of solutions to climate change.
