iciHaïti - Cap-Haitien : Increase in indecent and disrespectful behavior among some students...
The Cap-Haitien Municipal Commission observes with deep concern the increase in indecent and disrespectful behavior among some students, both in schools and in the city's public spaces.

Several videos that have recently gone viral on social media depict disturbing scenes involving students, sometimes in uniform, displaying attitudes and gestures that constitute genuine violations of public decency, in total contradiction with the values of discipline, respect, and citizenship that Haitian youth should embody.

This phenomenon, which increases particularly at the end of the baccalaureate exams, harms the image of the city and the entire educational community. While the joy of completing an important academic milestone is legitimate, it must be expressed with dignity and respect for social norms.

Faced with this worrying situation, the Municipal Commission:

• Firmly condemns these abuses, which are contrary to public order and decency;

• Calls on public and private school leaders to fully assume their educational and disciplinary roles by raising awareness and providing better supervision to their students;

• Requests the Departmental Directorate of National Education to formally instruct school administrators to strictly prohibit such deviant behavior;

• Encourages the Government Commissioner and law enforcement to take the necessary steps to prevent and suppress such misconduct on public roads.

The Municipal Commission calls on all educational stakeholders, parents, teachers, and community leaders to take responsibility to ensure better moral and civic education for our young people.
