iciHaiti - Politic : Decentralization of the judicial identity service
The Haitian National Police (PNH), through the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), the Judicial Intelligence Bureau (BRJ), and the Scientific and Technical Police Bureau (BPST), recently concluded a training seminar focused on fingerprinting techniques applied to police certificates. This session benefited ten officers of the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ) from the Grand North and Grand South regions.

Led by Vladimir PARAISON, Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), this initiative is part of a decentralization strategy aimed at bringing judicial identification services closer to citizens living outside the capital, who often face significant difficulties obtaining a police certificate.

During these two intensive days, participants were trained on several essential modules, including :

• The basics of the police certificate;
• The use of fingerprints in forensic identification;
• Types of fingerprint patterns, fingerprint characteristics, and ten-print records (10-finger prints);
• Finger rolling techniques;
• Concepts of professional ethics.

Furthermore, Mack Justin, the Central Director of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), reaffirmed the DCPJ's commitment to providing ongoing support to the BRJ and the BPST in implementing the skills acquired during this training.
