On the morning of Saturday, October 18, 2025, Police Officer Rivalcey Abner, assigned to the Fonds-des-Blancs Police Station, was struck by a projectile while participating in the execution of a warrant to bring issued against Venante Sénatus.

The officer was seriously injured and immediately transported to the local Saint-Boniface Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Following this incident, a response team was dispatched to the scene to secure the area and attempt to locate the individuals involved.

Furthermore, the person arrested, the subject of the warrant, was transferred to the Aquin Police Station, where he is currently being held in custody pending further legal action in this case.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased officer, to his colleagues at the Fonds-des-Blancs Police Station, and to the entire police family, while reaffirming its commitment to relentlessly prosecuting the perpetrators of this criminal act.
