iciHaiti - Construction : Monitoring of the Construction Work on the Drinking Water Distribution Network

On Friday, October 24, 2025, Engineer Théophil Ostinvil, Director General of the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), accompanied by the Regional Director for the West, the Director of the Technical Operations Center of the Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Region (CTE-RMPP), and his technical team, conducted a monitoring visit to the construction of the drinking water distribution network in Vivy-Mitchel, Tabarre 52, and Caradeux, respectively. The work began on July 31, 2025, and aims to strengthen the drinking water network in the Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Region.

This work will enable residents of these three areas, who previously lacked regular access to drinking water, to benefit from improved and continuous service. This crucial work for the drinking water and sanitation sector is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through support provided to the Haitian government, and implemented by DINEPA through the PAP III Program, under the supervision of the Regional Office for Drinking Water and Sanitation (OREPA-Ouest).

For execution, the contract was awarded to the IMCO-COTASSA Group, which has, to date, carried out its work in compliance with established technical and environmental standards.

This water initiative, which affects three municipalities in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area (Pétion-Ville, Delmas, and Tabarre), is further proof of DINEPA's commitment to innovation and is part of a broad strategic vision structured around three main priorities :

1. Development of the water and sanitation sector;

2. Institutional financial autonomy;

3. Good governance in public service management.
