iciHaiti - Port-au-Prince : Strengthening firefighter training
The Port-au-Prince City Hall is participating in a major civil security capacity-building initiative implemented by the Haitian government through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in collaboration with the Canadian Peace and Security Officers Training Association (CPSOTA).

This specialized training, focused on: the roles and responsibilities of firefighters; the hierarchy of ranks; the use of equipment and tools; fire behavior; prevention activities; and several other essential modules, is benefiting 30 young people from the Port-au-Prince Municipal Fire Department (SIMPAP).

The sessions are currently taking place at the Karibe Convention Center and will last for fifteen days.

The main objective of this program is to strengthen the technical and operational skills of the capital's firefighters in order to improve their response capacity in the event of fire, disaster, or emergency.

CPSOTA is a humanitarian organization recognized for its expertise in civil security training and crisis management. Present in Canada and Haiti, it has been contributing for several years to strengthening national capacities in emergency services and first responders.
