iciHaiti - Security : 12,000 soldiers deployed to the border
Nearly 12,000 military personnel (just under 25% of the Dominican army's active forces) and a reinforcement of intelligence services and drones have been deployed along the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) has declared a state of maximum alert for all its personnel and has suspended all leave and mission authorizations due to the resurgence of threats and clashes with armed groups in the capital and other regions of the country.

Dominican military authorities specify that the border reinforcement is not related to confrontations between gangs and law enforcement in Haiti but rather constitutes an adjustment to the border security protocol.

The largest contingent of these military personnel comes from the Dominican Army, with more than 7,000 soldiers, followed by approximately 1,800 personnel assigned to the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (CESFRONT).

The remaining personnel belong to other branches of the armed forces, including the intelligence services.

A source within the military clearly stated that there is no danger at the border and that Dominican authorities are in control of the situation.

Authorities have also reinforced surveillance of sensitive areas using drones, ground patrols, and aerial surveillance with the assistance of TP-75 Dulus aircraft from the Dominican Air Force. It should be noted that aerial surveillance patrols are conducted daily.
