Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Winners of the «My Neighborhood is the Cleanest» Contest
On Thursday, January 1st, 2026, the Cap-Haitien Municipal Commission presented awards to the neighborhoods that participated in the "My Neighborhood is the Cleanest" (Katye Lakayan m Pi Pwòp) contest, launched on September 7, 2025 (https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-45738-icihaiti-cap-haitien-launch-of-operation-konbit-a-cleaning-campaign.html).

The La Violette neighborhood won first prize, which includes a cash award of one million gourdes (1,000,000). This sum will be used for a development project in the area. The other neighborhoods received streetlights.

On the Podium :
1st : La Violette Neighborhood (Prize : 1 million Gourdes)
2nd : Laurier Neighborhood (Prize : 15 streetlights)
3rd : La Fossette Neighborhood (Prize : 10 streetlights)

During the ceremony, Angie Bell, the Mayor of Cap-Haitien, commended the remarkable work done by Ayiti Community Trust in the community. She presented them with a plaque of honor in recognition of their commitment to local development.

The Municipal Commission is convinced that the commitment of every citizen, and especially close collaboration with the Mayor's office, is the essential foundation for the success of all initiatives aimed at cleanliness, sustainable development, and improving living conditions in the municipality.
