Daniel Supplice thanks the Diaspora

Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitian living abroad thanks the compatriots of the Diaspora for their involvement in the achievement of activities related to the commemoration of the day of the diaspora April 20, 2012. Delivery of educational and sports equipment for young people of CERMICOL

Wednesday, the Office of Citizen Protection, in conjunction with the Prison Administration, organized a ceremony of delivery of educational and sports equipment (with the financial support of Switzerland) in favor of young of the Rehabilitation Center for Minors in Conflict with the Law (CERMICOL). Through this program, minors now have access to a library 'rehabilitated' and can benefit from social and sporting activities with appropriate supervision.

Creole member countries of Caricom meet

A key feature of Haitian culture is the Creole language which is only spoken by two other Member States of CARICOM, Dominica and St. Lucia. Creole speaking countries members, should join together to promote the Creole within Caricom. To this end, the Representative Office of teh Caricom in Haiti, has planned a meeting between officials from the ministries of culture and other relevant organizations of Dominica, Haiti and St. Lucia to discuss how this three countries could work together for the Advancement the development of Creole in the Caricom. The meeting is scheduled in Port-au-Prince, Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Plaza Hotel at 9:00 am.

AVSI gives a positive review of 20 months of actions in Haiti

After the 2010 earthquake, the Italian Association of Volunteers for International Service (AVSI) has completed in 20 months the restructuring or the construction of 16 structures: 9 schools, an education center, 5 feeding centers, craft workshops including a community restaurant. The work was made ​​possible by a team of about 180 people working in often difficult conditions and thanks to the collaboration of friends of the association AVSI, private donors and institutional, of the network of remote support and volunteers of Points AVSI.
