Economic Sciences will be taught in Jacmel

Fritz Deshommes, the Vice-President Research at the State University of Haiti (UEH), announced that a new course "Economic Sciences" was added to the curriculum of the Law School of Jacmel. This new course, whose idea was initiated in 2008 by Dr Georges Greffin, Dean at the time, sucite great interest among young jacméliens. Applications are numerous, for this courses, but unfortunately, the Faculty of Law and of Economic Sciences of Jacmel can only accommodate 100 students.

Cancellation of the March against breast cancer

Due to climatic conditions, Support Group Against Cancer (GSCC) has announced the cancellation of the march against breast cancer, scheduled for this Sunday, October 28. A new date will be communicated to the public later.

A bridge collapse near Jacmel

Saturday, shortly before 5:00 pm, a serious accident occurred in Jacmel while the bridge Jeté [in very poor condition] on the river Dumeuze, collapsed under the weight of a tractor overloaded with passengers. he bodies of at least six victims were recovered and there are about twenty wounded [provisional assessment]. The research was interrupted at nightfall and rescuers fear that the number of victims is higher.
