Thursday morning in Caracas during a demonstration in support to the Venezuelan President and the Bolivarian Constitution, in the gardens of the Palace of Miraflores, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe declared in Spanish before a crowd of more than 50,000 people "Thanks to Venezuela and President Hugo Chavez, Haiti is better [...] From the cradle of the Liberator, we want to send, on behalf of my Government and of all Haitians, our desire that very soon, he is back with all the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean [...] The Haitians have the President Chavez in their prayers and we know that soon we will be together."
Agricultural recovery post-Sandy
The Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES), reported that over 10,000 people have received seeds and agricultural tools to revive agriculture in areas affected strongly by the passage of Sandy. At this stage, the Minister Delegate for Promotion Peasantry and the Director General of FAES, have completed the pilot phase, to launch the program in the 10 departments.
Île à Vache on the agenda of the Minister of Tourism
Thursday Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism met at his office the Minister of Economy and Finance, Marie Carmelle Jean Marie, Mr. Jerry Tardieu, M. Guerdy Lissade and Mr. Jean Emmanuel Casséus around of treatment of the legal aspects of tourism development of the Île-à-Vache.
Launch of the e-declaration of taxes
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) on Thursday launched the "e-declaration", this new service will allow taxpayers to make their final statements of taxes via the website of MEF. They can also fill out the tax clearance online.
Kristalina Georgieva in visit in Haiti
Mrs Kristalina Georgieva, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, International Cooperation, of the European Union is visiting Haiti from 11 to 13 January 2013. This visit aims above all to honor the victims of the tragedy of January 12, 2010, will also be an opportunity for the Commissioner Georgieva to meet with Haitian authorities and partners involved in the reconstruction and to report on progress and provide an update 3 years after January 12, 2010, on the support of the European Union in this area.
