Petion-ville, will have its own Carnival
Thursday, Yvanka Jolicoeur Brutus, Mayor of Petion-Ville announced that will take place February 3, 2013, the Carnival of Petion-ville "For a long time that Petion-ville did not have its Carnival. I set up a committee able and ready to offer for free its services, in order to provide to the inhabitants of Petion-ville a beautiful carnival," around the theme "Petyon-vil,dwat devan". According to Yves Penel, committee chairman, parades cyclists, motorcyclists, jugglers, animation and allegorical floats and musical are on the program of this cultural event. Carnival activities will begin from 1:00 pm and will end at midnight explained the Mayor of Pétion-ville, which indicated that the budget for this event was 10 million gourdes.
Closing day of the Consulate of Orlando
The Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando informs the Haitian Community of its Jurisdiction, that of Florida in particular, that the Consulate will be closed on Monday January 21st 2013 for the Celebration of "Martin Luther King Jr".
