Haiti and Moscow in favor of the lifting of the economic blockade of Cuba

At the end of his visit to Moscow, the Chancellor Pierre Richard Casimir and his counterpart Serguey Lavrov reaffirmed their commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, heir willingness to contribute to any effort to lift the economic blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and its unconditional support for the efforts of the international community to support the reconstruction and development of Haiti.

Martelly will decorate Mimi Barthelemy posthumously

Governance and State Reform

On Thursday, the Office of Human Resources Management (OMRH) met with a delegation from the Special Advisory Group of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Mission of Venezuela Haïti

Thursday took place the first observation and diagnosis mission on the ground, of the team from the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (Venezuela), to study the feasibility of implementation of tourism development projects in Haiti.

Mgr. Rémy Augustin, was first black Bishop Haitian, born and residing outside the African continent. Mgr. Rémy Augustin, auxiliary of the archdiocese of Port-au-Prince, was appointed to this position by Pope Pius XII April 8, 1953 and consecrated Bishop May 31, 1953. Exiled in 1961 after being briefly administrator of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince, he returned to Haiti in 1966 and became Titular Bishop of Port-de-Paix, a position he held until his resignation February 22, 1982. He passed away on 29 March 1983.
