Performance review of Laurent Lamothe

On Tuesday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, presented a report on its performance to the UN tribune in 5 days there were 42 meetings and 48 engagements. During a meeting with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President of the World Bank, Jim Kim they agreed to finance a unit to work on the most suitable ways to land government programs. He announced soon, the visit to Haiti of Mr. Blair, who will sign a cooperation agreement to accompany the Primature executives through training in management of development projects, in England.

140 Senegalese police in Haiti soon

Monday, September 7th, the 9th Contingent of Senegalese Gendarmes [140 elements of which 3 Officers and 6 sub-officers], that must participate in the UN mission, willleave Dakar for Haiti. Their mission will be focused on maintaining and restoring order, protecting quarters of the mission of the United Nation and escorts the officials, according to the Contingent Commander.

Slowing inflation in August

According to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics, after its near-stagnation in monthly rate of 0.1% in July 2013, the index of consumer prices (base 100 in August 2004) has recorded in August 2013 a slight increase of 0.3% from 208.8 to 209.1. By cons, a sharp slowdown in the pace of annualized growth in inflation was observed 5.5% in August against 6.2% the previous month, pointed to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI) in its last publication.

Signature of an agreement with the Florida State University

On Wednesday, the Minister of Tourism has proceeded to the signing of an agreement with the Florida State University EMHS, FAVACA and SODADE to establish a partnership with the Haitian government, through the Ministry of Tourism within the tourism development project on the Île-à-Vache. This collaboration will provide technical support in the areas of prevention and management of major natural hazards in Ile-à-Vache.
