London: Documents dated 1547 on Haiti

The Charge d'Affaires Jean R. Pillard of the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in London visited the British National Archives in order to verify the existence of an original copy of the declaration of independence act of Haiti dated January 1, 1804. The Charge d'Affaires and Counsellor Jean Joseph Leandre were able to view several historical documents on Haiti, some dated as far back at 1547.

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) had a meeting with the new Ambassador of Spain accredited in Haiti, Manuel Lorenzo Gaecia-Ormaechea, around the next participation of Haiti in the "FITUR 2015", the 2nd largest tourism fair in the world. The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Minister of Tourism and its Spanish counterpart was also one of the points raised in this meeting.
