On Monday, November 2nd, 2026, Pythagore Dumas, Minister of Youth and Sports (MJSAC), attended a celebratory dinner hosted by the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) in honor of the Haitian men’s U-15 national team. The team had recently returned home following their participation in the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival, held from October 24 to 30 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

On this occasion, Minister Dumas speaking on behalf of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, the entire government, and the Haitian people extended his congratulations to the players' parents, the FHF Normalization Committee, the athletes themselves, and the technical and medical staff, all of whom enabled the team to represent the nation with dignity in this major competition.

Out of 189 participating nations, Haiti finished in 61st place, ranking first among all Caribbean representatives and fourth within the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF). During the tournament, our young "Grenadiers" scored 25 goals across 10 matches, while conceding 13. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48785-haiti-fifa-u-15-world-cup-2026-positive-results-for-our-grenadiers.html This reception also provided an opportunity for Minister Dumas to meet once again with the U-15 men’s national team. He took the occasion to reiterate the Government’s congratulations and wish the team every success ahead of their departure for France—at the invitation of Ligue 1 club Racing Club de Lens—to participate in a training program from November 19 to 29, 2026 : https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-48767-racing-club-de-lens-d1-our-u-14-grenadiers-cfu-champions-invited-for-a-10-day-sports-trip.html

He also announced that, this week, his Ministry will provide a check for 7 million Gourdes to the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) for the U-14 squad, following their victory in the 2026 CFU Challenge Series.

For Minister Pythagore Dumas, supporting young talent represents a significant investment in the future of Haitian sports. As these players are currently in the U-14 and U-15 age groups, they are expected to continue their development and, in time, progress to the U-17, U-20, and senior national teams. Providing them with proper guidance and support is therefore a key priority for ensuring the next generation of talent and allowing Haiti to continue to shine on the international stage.
