iciHaiti - Elections : Non-sensitive materials come from South Africa !
On Tuesday, the Provisional Electoral Council received at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, a first delivery of non-sensitive materials from South Africa, including in particular 4,865 electoral kits (ballot boxes, indelible ink, polling booths...) and 1,800 training kits for carrying out the elections on 9 August 2015. Two additional deliveries will arrive on 27 and 29 June.

Just as the printing of ballots that are produced in Dubai https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14300-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html , these firms were chosen by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which manages the election budget, following an international tender.

Adviser Jaccéus Joseph deplore this choice, he believes that UNDP should have given preference to Haitian firms "Personally, I raised the issue with UNDP. You can not submit an underdeveloped country to international competitors for the manufacture of products that local firms can achieve." Stating that following a compromise, it was agreed with UNDP, these are Haitian companies that will produce the ballot papers for the presidential election and local authorities.
