Wednesday morning, Pierre Lafond, the candidate for Mayor of Marigot under the banner of the FUSION party died at the Saint-Michel in Jacmel hospital, after being fatally shot by a certain Bissainthe, security officer of Déus Deronette, parliamentary candidate under the banner of PONT party.

According Prophène Michel, member of the cartel Fusion "Pierre Lafond who was returning from a political meeting in Pérédo, near Marigot, was fatally injured when an dispute broke out between Bissainthe and his wife. Events then degenerated into shooting that almost cause other victims."
