iciHaiti - Health : Soon a modern slaughterhouse in Cabaret

The town of Cabaret (West Department, Borough of Arcahaie) will soon have a modern slaughterhouse (end of completion) with an area of 264 m2. Divided into several areas, including a building for administration, this slaughterhouse was funded to the tune of 60,000 US dollars by the Minustah, through its quick impact projects (QIPs).
This slaughterhouse, the first of its kind, will be connected to a water system for washing the meat as well as a pressure washing system to facilitate the evacuation of waste in septic tanks fitted for this purpose. This new infrastructure which will allow work in compliance with health standards, will directly benefit at least 15 butchers, 30 workers and 50 traders in addition to healthily serve some 118,000 inhabitants of the town of Cabaret.
