iciHaïti - Security : 524 people people shot dead in the metropolitan area
The National Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace (JILAP) in its 55-56th report reveals that for the first three months of 2015, 524 people were shot dead in the metropolitan area (in Q1 145, 214 in Q2 and 165 in Q3) or an average of two people per day...

The report stresses that the metropolitan area, in large part is not controlled by the police, for lack of staff or because certain areas are out of bounds, out of control...

"Violence and the use of weapons are frightening, even to police officers," was concerned, Me Rovelson Appolon, National Coordinator of the observation at JILAP "Gangs are a challenge for the Haitian State both in terms security and social policy [...] the State is challenged in its ability to provide security and tranquility of citizens [...] the publi market are controlled by gangsters, crime becomes too easy and death is trivialized," lamented, Me Appolon.
